Protection of Research Participants

  • All investigations involving patients or volunteers should be conducted in accordance with the principles of Declaration of Helsinki. These studies require Ethics Committee and/or Institutional review board approval, and, where relevant, the patients' written informed consent, which should be documented in the Methods section of the paper. The Editors reserve the right to refuse publications where the required ethical approval/patient consent is lacking.
  • For animal experimentation, authors should follow the Interdisciplinary Principles and Guidelines for the Use of Animals in Research, Testing, and Education issued by the New York Academy of Sciences Adhoc Committee on Animal Research and should also be approved by the investigator's Institutional review board.
