Floristic composition, Life forms and Phytogeography of Al-Hashr Mountain, Jazan region, SW Saudi Arabia

Abstract
The Floristic composition, life forms and phytogeographical ıaffinities were conducted in Al-Hashr Mountain, Southwestern ıSaudi Arabia. In total, 116 plant species belonging to 95 genera ıand 47 families were collected and identified. Asteraceae and ıPoaceae were the most important families in terms of species ırichness. The life forms spectrum was dominated by ıchamaephytes, while the remainders were therophytes and ıphanerophytes, denoting phytoclimate of semi-arid mountainous ıhabitat with topographical variation refuge many microhabitats, as ıwell as anthropogenic factors. Due to its location, the study area, ıas a part of southwestern Saudi Arabia, is a meeting place of ısome phytogeographical regions of Holarctic and Palaeotropic, ıwith high affinity to Sudano-Zambezian phytochorion, as well as ıhigh degree of endemism of South Arabian. ı
