ENZYMATIC ANTIOXIDANTS ACTIVITY IN TOMATO PLANTS INFECTED WITH A NECROTROPHIC AND A BIOTROPHIC FUNGAL PATHOGENS

Abstract
Comparison of some activities of the five enzymatic antioxidants: i.e. superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POX), ascorbate peroxidase (APOX), glutathione reductase (GR) and dehydroascorbate reductase (DHAR) were studied. The host tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill) leaves were inoculated with a necrotrophic and a biotrophic fungal pathogen in compatible host/pathogen combinations.

Key words: Enzymatic antioxidants, biotrophic pathogen Leveillula taurica, necrotrophic pathogen Botrytis cinerea and Lycopersicon esculentum.
