RESPONSE OF DAHLIA PINNATA PLANTS TO BIOFERTILIZER TYPES

Abstract
The present study was conducted to evaluate the response of Dahlia plants grown in sandy calcarious soil to three biofertilizers namely biogen, phosphorein and active dry yeast during 2006 / 2007 and 2007 / 2008 seasons. It was found that biofertilization treatments and in particular the mixed culture of biogen, phosphorein and active dry yeast, were effective an enhancing different vegetative growth characters, flowering aspects, tuberous roots production and chemical constituents. The best overall results were obtained due to the mixed culture of biogen, phosphorein and active dry yeast.
